1751 Fabric

The 1751 collection was originally inspired by British silk dress designs dating from 1750s, but also has many other influences. Charlotte is never fixed on one design idea when combining a collection, there are many thought processes involved when deciding what is included. Small motifs can be collected and re designed to create a textured fabric, for example, Swiss knot came from half a shape found in an ancient paper cut picture from Gstaad, Switzerland. Cambo was inspired by a ceramic plate found in Wallington Hall, Northumberland. Dressy was added to create a more modern touch with an updated retro feel, again this design was inspired by a dress pattern.
